Jor Broeder (2000), makes mind altering art through physical and visual transformation. With experimental methods their process salutes fluidity and non linear narratives. 

Through mindful disobedience they advocate with the performance of a belief that you are already free. A freedom that is found in care for community, lively textures, interpersonal dynamics, love and resistance. In a compressed world it’s only logical to try and look far, but in compression we have to see up close and unravel.  

Their works are made through interdisciplinary methods that question business as usual, social norms and West-European suppression. In their becoming, they take an anarchist approach towards art and hope you sweat a little when met with the uncomfortable. Art is as much a friend as it is an enemy. The world of art is as much a playground as it is a prison. 

Although their expression is colourful they are not afraid of the dark and gritty. Their music translates this somatic place, deep inside their gut. A cave where energy builds towards an eruption that can be met with laughter, anger or a tear. Their art exists in ambiguity, as hard as it is soft, as close as it is distant.
