In this film, a group of young adults spend a weekend in silence together at a Zen Buddhist monastery. They drink tea, clean, walk around, and meditate together. The birds seem to chirp a little louder, the cutlery and plates sound like a radio play during meals, and in the wind, you can hear different kinds of noise. As time passes, you, along with them, sink deeper and deeper into that clear silence. Je Bent Al Hier (You Are Already Here) takes you on a meditative journey where you can ask yourself where you are going, and more importantly, where you are now.
The short film [empty. body.] follows Bodhi and their imaginary friend Didi. As Bodhi’s thoughts wander and they lose their grip on reality, Didi tries to help. Didi attempts to ground Bodhi in their body, but Bodhi rejects this help, with all the consequences that follow. The short film is shot in black and white, using long shots and wide angles to explore Bodhi’s internal struggle and emphasize the feeling of dissociation.
